Which Dexron for for Ed's Red?
Can any brand be used, such as Castol, ACDelco, Valvoline?

I seriously doubt it matters.

Walmart brand. It's cheapest. And a nice red color.

Any ATF is OK. If you have old Ford Mercon in the garage, a good way to use it up if you sold the old 1970 Ford Custom Police Interceptor. Would pass anything but a gas station. I miss muscle cars...

I use what ever bottles I used and allow to drip over night into a clean container. My fav cleaning and press lube. I patch everything w Ed’s red and usually find that’s all it takes. Not sure how well it protects comp to others but in short I haven’t been caught pants down w it.

Made up a gallon of Ed's Red and now don't run out. I concur any ATF and if your container is big enough add a quart of silicone?

Turns Ed's Red into a super gun oil. Use as a CLP.

Back when Brownell's sold cans of sperm oil and Herter's sold 2 ounces bottle of silicone, word was an even mixture made a wonderful gun wipe and preservative. I can testify that it does indeed. Still have some, smells real nice, too.

You know you don't have to make ed's red. You can use straight dextron.

Works great for leading, cleaning and lubricating revolvers, just about anything you can imagine.

Little Dextron on a q-tip or patch and go to town.
