This is my first post here. I apologize if this was already discussed. I have been reloading for years so I’m not new to this but always need to learn more.
My question is that I need load data for 40 s&w shooing a cast/sized/wax lubed 175 grain lee truncated bullet. I’m using CCI #500 primers and mixed cases. The powder I picked up that I’m need info on is Hodgdon Titegroup. I heard it’s a good powder. I contacted Hodgdon and was told that lead doesn’t work in a 40, I’ve been shooting cast 40s for years.

I was using Alliant Power Pistol but am unable to get any locally right now

This is the data I use for my cast in 40. I cast and load the Lee 175 gr Truncated cone tumble lube bullets. CFE Pistol is my preferred powder as it loads well for all the pistol calibers I load but tite group is my back up powder.

Thank you! I wasn’t sure if I should use that data because it was for jacketed and that can make a difference. I usually load on mid range of the charts. I will put a couple together and give them a try.

This is actually for the Berry’s plated bullets it is recommended to use cast data for plated bullets. Mid range works great in all of my 40’s.

My Arsenal 401-175 -TC mold that drops at 172g with my alloy. I load it with 4.6 grains of Titegroup using CCI #500 primers and get 1010 fps and cycles my P320 every time. I've tried lower chargers but at 4.3 and 4.4 grains the brass ejects straight back in my face and get the occasional stove pipe. I've shot literally over 1000 of these rounds, so I'd beg to differ about lead not working in 40.

I'm running 4.5 grains of 700x behind a Berry's plated in my .40 Shield.

I test fired five rounds. 4.5 grains powder 1.124” total length. Functioned perfectly. Nice recoil, sharp snap. Cycled my PPQ perfectly. Thank you for the information

My absolute favorite powder for 40 S&W target ammo is Win 452AA. 4.3 gr under the Lee 175 gr TC boolit. My supply of 452AA is about depleted (sniff), but WST is the successor to it with very similar properties. WST will be what I use going forward.

I really like using Winchester Super Field in most of my auto's. I have used Power Pistol, HS6 and HS7 often as well. Zip is an interesting powder as well in the 40. This round will shoot well with about any decent pistol powder, really depends upon the velocity you are looking for and the bullet weight as I shoot from 155 up to 200 grain cast in 40's.

Same bullet for me, except conventional lube groove. I'd rather sit at the Lube-Sizer & watch old WESTERNS on my tablet. Set up behind the Lube-Sizer.
TITEGROUP-4.6grs in my GLOCKS w/Wolf bbl's & an old 4006.
I also use the same bullet in .38WCF COLT SAA Loads.
