anyone ever replace one of these with something like bronze, babbit, or soft lead?

You talking about on a Piggyback. No, I just get RCBS to send me a few they are warranty parts, just ask for more then 1. If you use something that can't give you'll mess up the self advance mechanism.

Yep, RCBS will send 'em straight out, no questions asked. I've only managed to mess up the 1st one, but they do wear out after about 6-7,000 rds. I've still got 3 left from my 1st dozen.
