.460S&W in .45 LC/.410 Single Shot Rifle?

A friend was wondering if a New England Arms single shot rifle would handle the pressure from a .460 S&W. I don't know the operating pressures of a .460,there would be a lot of freebore but will the steel handle the pressure?

If it's a factory NEF gun that came with the 45 LC barrel originally, then NO, it will NOT handle the 460. If it is a high-pressure frame, i.e. it originally came with a .308, 30-06, etc. barrel, then it should handle the 460.
In T/C's, you have to go to the Encore to safely handle the 460, the Contender isn't up to its pressure levels. I happen to have a 460 barrel for my Encore, I think it has great potential even though I haven't tried hi-power loads for it yet.
