Digest, hands down. My dad would get them from a fella he worked with, after the guy was done with them. Some of the articles were cut out (mostly boolit casting by Kent Bellah) and I dident know what was up till years later when I saw complete copys.

Gun Digest was my favorite, shooters bible seemed to only have a few articles. I have all from #1 up to 2000,at that point they seemed to not have much of interest to me. Maybe need to check out a new one, thanks for the reminder. I still drag one out to read on occasion, especially feburary when im sick of winter!

Shooter's Bible is mostly a big catalog.

Gun Digest in the John Amber era had the best articles ever. Ken Warner also did a good job in keeping up that standard. After DBI Books was taken over by Kraus Publications the quality deteriorated as the old article inventory accumulated by Warner was used up, and after that most of the articles have been advertising fluff and esoterica of little interest to serious collectors or shooters.
