i have a friend that is thinking of selling a few of his colt colletable/commerative pistols. all are new, unfired, 100%, with manufactures's brochures.

1) frontier scout general nathan bedford forest commerative, 22lr, gold plated, with book about forest, rosewood grips, presentation case, 1968?

2) frontier scout nevada state centenial, 22lr, blued w/nickel strap, pearl grips, presentation case, comes with colt key chain screwdriver, 1964

3) colt frontier scout (not commemorative), blued, stag bone grips, 22lr and 22 mag cylinders, original box and brouchure 95%1962

any ideas would be great

Troll them around a gun show.............check on FTH or AA to see if they are even selling..........or check out one of the gun price guides at a book store.......bottom line is.......they are only worth what someone is willling to pay.:coffee:

I saw a used Nevada Scout a while back for $250 but when I encounter the commemorative models new/unfired in the box, they typically only go for $400-500 in my neck of the woods. I actually find that strange because well used regular-run models typically go for that much.

From what I've seen the various commemorative pistols and esp the
Winchester 94s don't bring much over what a good condition version of
the original gun would bring. The inlaid medal in the stock and stuff
doesn't seem to generate a lot of interest.

I'm no expert, but just from looking at a lot of gun shows over the years.
