Measure the required width of slot to be cut and how deep it needs to be cut. If it is deeper than a woodruff key cutter can reach, it can be cut with a slitting saw of the appropriate diameter and width. It is good practice to not use a cutter much bugger than what is needed for depth of cut. There are several companies that sell both types of cutters. I, personally use MSC. Their web site is MSCDIRECT.COM. If using a slitting saw, you will also need the appropriate arbor.

As said width depth and radius needed to determine the cutter. a lot of oil and correct speed. Also Look at OSG, as they make endmills and cutters may have some more options.
