CORRECTION IT IS A NUMBER 6.

If had this little carbine for several years. It was missing some parts, so I put it on the back burner. Today I made a takedown screw for it, and shot it. I'm not too happy with the results. So what do I do now? New barrel? Put a bushing in it? Convert it to centerfire, and rebarrel it to 32 S&W Long. It's just something to screw around with. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180618/ee6ba8e250fe21e030759be48a1a563e.jpg

Just line the chamber if the bore is still good. Measure the chamber and thread a section of liner. Then bore and thread the barrel and screw in the chamber liner with some epoxy and then recut the chamber and set the headspace. Simple fix.

But converting it to centrefire with a .32 S&W Long liner would be a lot more fun and reloadable too ... just sayin' ...

if it really is the takedown #4, I'd just put it away and forget it. Never was a worse takedown arrangement than that one.

;-)I have a 7.7 Jap barrel that some jerk took a hacksaw to. I've been looking at it for close to thirty years now. I was thinking of using it for the barrel. It's chrome lined, and in perfect condition, except where they cut halfway through and stopped.

jimkim, I would rate the no. 6 even less useful to convert to a centerfire caliber.
They are a cool gun for what they are but not strong enough to be a centerfire.

Depending on bore condition could you just set the barrel back a half inch and rechamber?

Keeps it all original and saves the sights etc.

No those are not suitable for conversion they are barely 22 lr grade.
