quite awhile back, I posted pictures of my homestead.
it was during winter and was showing off the brown.
:)

so, since i had to re-aim my tv antenna and deploy a new wire antenna for hf ham radio work, i decided to snap a couple shots during the "green" period.

Fine looking homestead you have .. 120 acres You are blessed ..
I only have 36 Acres. Want to buy at least 10 acres behind me so I can tell people I have to "go work the back 40" :) :)

You are in the ideal part of Missouri 30 miles roughly west of me.

I am outside of Springfield. You can see the barn but the house and garage are in the trees

Nice place but what piqued my interest was "taking my little beagle out squirrel hunting today". You hunt squirrels with a dog????

i operate on emergency power for field day and wanted a monoband dipole for 40m qrp.

i hunt squirrels with a dog when i hunt alone.
she, "Reload", will tree the squirrel and i'll deliver a 20ga from the o/u.
she "usually" will retrieve the prize for me.

rabbit season is a ways off but Reload does the work then too.
;)

when i hunt squirrel with kids/grandkids, we hunt from a ground blind with .22 rimfire. Reload stays on the couch.

i mentioned before that my wife and i sold our home + 10 acres just outside salem to move out here permanently.

the home you see was a major downgrade but we are VERY thankful for our place out here.

i have a problem with survivor's guilt they tell me and being out here has really helped.

i appreciate the comments and i do know we're blessed.

except for internet that is :)
we are the last customer on this line from steelville telephone exchange.
we get .8megabits/sec download from a 1.5mbit plan
(they warned us ahead of signup).

i've managed to adapt.
more time for casting and radio right?

WebMonkey, You are about 15-20 miles from me. I live in Salem around Shawnee Mac (old Ziskey farm, I think I spelled that right). Anyway, I like your place. We've got a whole acre :) (My wife wanted to be close to town while I going back to sea duty when we bought the house). I've got Indian trails to play around in though.

nice being close to undeveloped land.

i understand. without my little tractor/brush hog, i'd be up to my ears.
my wife does quite a bit.

we also have 6 kids and 11 grandkids that stop by sometimes ;)

Sounds like we have enough members close to have a shoot somewhere?

I live right down the road from Doc McCoy. Right on the bend. Never have fished the lakes though.
