Anyone ever used any of this before? Any thoughts on it?

They certainly look like lead. If you have access to some, my advice is to melt them and try casting. If they cast good bullets, check hardness. Alloy as needed.

All of the ones that I installed were zinc or galvanized steel. If you have lead ones thats great. I would put a drop of acid on them or test them against a magnet before going to very much effort.

yup the ones we used were cast steel with a galvanized coating. I know at one time they did use lead though. But I'm 62. was a lineman most of my life and it was before my time.
