I took this out to do some plinking yesterday; I had forgotten just how sweet the little girl really is. 1982 Marlin Model 1894C. Barrel shortened to 16 1/4"; magazine shortened to hold 5 rounds of 357. Taller front sight installed, barrel band moved back and sling swivel mounted to magazine tube. I traded into this little gem in the late 80's or early 90's with a very unloved, despicably performing Ruger P-90; I definitely got the best of that deal. She handles Lyman 358156 sized .358 and checked beautifully over a heavy charge of any slow burner. Got her cleaned up and ready to do it again.

Nice Marlin you have there. Those pistol cartridge carbines are real handy. I’ve got one in 41 Mag.

I like the double banded look. Woods gun deluxe.

Wow...she's real nice. You gotta love the lines on a lever gun. I like the shorty barrel too...real sleek looking.

The 357's are fun. I have a Rossi 92 Win clone in 357. One of the rifles I shoot. While I am not so much into bench rest 5 shot groups I do a bit of what archers call stump shooting. I have a lot of woods on the place and sometimes keep the eye sharp shooting at inviting stumps and blowdowns. It's seen a lot of hours carried on my tractor and 4 wheeler while cutting wood. Enjoy the rifle. Mine likes 125 gr cast, but does not do bad with 158 grains either.

Your rifle is very similar to my Rossi trapper. These are the handiest of all the lever rifles and a thrill to carry and shoot on a frequent basis. Hope you get to spend more time enjoying your rifle.
