I cast some Lyman 255 SWCGC,(# 452490,)out of #8 magnum shot, water quenched from mold - 22 BHN, Weighed 267 grs, tumbled lubed with Lee Alox. I seated the gas check with a .454 Lee sizer so there was minimal sizing on the bullets.

These bullets performed well with various loads from 1300-2180 fps with no leading and good groups out of my 454 Casulls in 7.5" BFR revolver and 20" M92 Puma Carbine.

Loads.....

I tried a load using IMR 4198. 33 gr. With the 267 gr Lyman...
(I used a CCI 450 small rifle mag primer)

BFR - Lo 1279 Hi 1357 Av 1312 Sd 30.16
PUMA - Lo 1596 Hi 1647 Av 1617 Sd 50.41

I also tried 30 gr of vN110 with the 267 gr Lyman...
(I used a standard CCI small rifle primer)

BFR - Lo 1773 Hi 1818 Av 1810 Sd 18.13
PUMA - Lo 2046 Hi 2057 Av 2052 Sd 4.79

The extraction was somewhat sticky with the BFR but primers not at all flattened. I've noticed sticky extraction with several loads using vN110 in the BFR. Extraction from the PUMA was normal.

and another load using the Lyman 267 gr...

35 gr H110, CCI mag small rifle primer

7.5" BFR Lo 1887 Hi 1954 Av 1920 Sd 28.7
20" Puma M92 Lo 2169 Hi 2192 av 2180 sd 10.34

This load produced excellent groups in both weapons.
