It varies a lot from what I have seen. A friend of mine paid .40 per pound for soft lead this weekend and I paid 1.00 for some ingots that were pretty hard but as of yet untested. I think WW is still going for 1.00 on fleabay. There are still some lucky souls out there getting it for free!

Thanks, I have a chance to pick up a fairly large quanity of soft lead and need to know the going price per pound. So you say 40¢ is what lead goes for a pound, not bad, I thought it would be more? Also there's some soder bars and also need to know what the price of the soder bars go for.

The last 50/50 solder bars I bought were $7.00 per lb. I thought it was high, but at $4.00 a gal. for gas, I wasn't going to drive around looking.

I posted this under a different thread but I listed a bunch of places if you're thinking of buying from a company. They're listed on the second page of the thread.

Ther is a guy on feebay that sells 50/50 for around $3.50 per pound. I bought a bunch 10 years ago and paid that back then. I also got some 15 pound bars of 60/40 at a scrap yard for $1 a pound.

What is the tin portion of a standard 60-40 soder bar? 60% or 40%? Ray
