This is the mold I use for most of my 9mm boolits. By the time they are cooled and powder coated, they weigh in at 129.0 to 129.5. I am loading them with Unique. I've been using 4.2gr, but it seems a little wimpy, just wondering what you would recommend? Oh by the way shooting them out of a SA XDs.

I have an older Alliant manual(circa 2001) that suggests 5.5 grains of Unique for max under a 125 grain lead boolit. I would slowly work up to that charge weight due to differences in boolit weight, OAL, and component differences.

I use 3.5 grains of Tight Group. With that bullet. Works well in all my guns. I did use 4 grains but that was a bit hot.

Most of the time I use HP38/W231 to load 9mm but I've used other powders including TG. I cast 125gr plus PC and they end up being about 130gr total. I load 4.2gr of HP38/W231 or 4gr of TG. I dont think 4gr of TG is hot and I would think that many guns wont cycle properly with just 3.5gr. I guess it depends on gun and how strong is your recoil spring. I like HP38/W231 better as it doesnt burn as fast so less pressure spike and i think I get better accuracy out of HP38/W231 but I havent shot TG in 9mm that much.

130gr cast with 4gr of WST works great i my XDs9. Slightly snappy recoil but fast followup.

I have settled on 4.5 of unique with 124 in my glock 34. And Rock River at in 9mm.

DO a ladder test until you find what load is the most accurate in your gun.

mine like BE best so far

I use the same mold. I’ve loaded and shot over 5000 over 4.9 grains of unique with no problems in either my Ruger 9E or my Kel-Tec PF9. 3.8 to 4 grns is the load I use for my Makarov and my Polish P64 with a 95 grn cast bullet so I could see why you would think 4.2 grains a little light.

3.5g of Tight Group cycles 5 different 9mm and a few friends 9mm. 4g works good but i am willing to sacrifice some FPS for some accuracy.

Smart to do it that way. Mine likes the 4 grain load but that is just my pistol.

My thoughts exactly, what good is velocity when you can hit the broadside of a barn with it.:bigsmyl2:

4.9 grains of unique is where I settled for a couple of different handguns for reliable cycling, although mine are not the TL version of that mold.
