A few mold suggestions: CBE, as they are local (but seem to offer more in ~.30cal. than 6.5mm); NOE (I may be looking at their offerings myself to feed my M 96); Veral Smith/CBE, who made a nice 140gr. mold for me years ago). Btw, Lee Precision once made a 6.5mm 6 cavity mold* that was a group buy here years ago, so maybe a search on your favorite auction sites or a WTB positing in the Swapping & Selling subform will produce one? As for powder, Unique worked for me, but I would start at 9.0gr. and work up to 10.0gr., given the faster twist of the M 96's bbl.

*Very accurate; looks like a miniature Lyman #31141/311041.

I have my best luck with a bullet from a NOE 162 grain mold, water quenched to about 27 Brinnell, over either 4227 or 4759 powders. Keeping muzzle velocity right at 1600 FPS usually gives the most accurate shooting. Although the Lyman 266469 140 grain Loverin design is close behind the NOE, as is the Lyman 266673 150 grain.

Good luck, GJ

221007A bit late to the party, but I get good results with a 140gn RCBS `silhouette' bullet gas checked to .265.
