Hello all,
While digging through lead at the scrap yard I came across a large candle holder. It is marked
Coronet plate EP lead. It has slightly more ting than wheel weights. I broke a piece off and it has a rather "rough" grain. I assume it has a bunch of antimony and it probably something like linotype. Have not done a hardness test yet. Any how my qeustion is has anyone used this before and have any idea what the composition might be? Google and forum search turned up nothing.

I avoid any EP. I have only ever come across one piece marked EP Antimoney.

Check it again in a couple of weeks and see what the reading is after it has time to age harden.

What was the melting temp?

Less than my wheel weight + tin boolit. Melted down in my ladle with a propane torch. Melted in down in muffins and will cast a few and check them later.
