Looking for suggestions for a load.
Been using the Ideal mould, but wanted to try a gas check boolet.

The Lee C309-120-R should work just fine. You can try one for only $20.

I would try Accurate #9. Depending on your alloy your bullet weight should fall in this range.

I’ve used 90gr SWC, 93gr RN, 100gr RN, 113gr FNGC, and 120gr RNGC.
The non-GC bullets are powder coated.
All have shot equal or better than jacketed bullets which tend to be undersized.

My favorite cast bullet powder is #2400. Acc#9 closely matches performance of #2400.
The economy of the 93gr RN thrown from my 6-cavity molds make them my preferred load. 11.4gr of #2400 operates the action and throws the cases over my shoulder behind me making recovery of brass easy.

Never used the Lee mold but I have used a bunch of 2400 with the Saeco 254 and have been pleased. My daughter's favorite round.

Got the mould already.
Looking for a load.
Ideal is an old Lyman pointy nose plain base 115g boolet. Forget the number.
Shoots good, but wanted to try a gas check boolet.
Going to try 11.0 to 12.0 of 2400. and 12.5 to 13.5 of W296.
I might try some 11.0 to 12.0 of #9 or Blue dot.

Tried it at the range today. Unexpected results.
220765
50yds off the bench. 5 shots
This is the best it ever shot.
309id 2400 11.0gr
Also tried 11.5 and 12.0 with 2400, and 11.0 and 12.0 with AA#9.
Shot well, but not as good.

I'd say Eureka and use that load.

I may have to drop my load down to 11grn and try that

Hope I just didn't get lucky.
Only loaded 10 rounds of each for testing.
50yds and 100yds.
We'll see if it was just a fluke or not this weekend.
