I wonder what it would look like with white micarta grips.

jmort,

Did you jump, or are you just enabling / taunting us to do so?.............:kidding:

That's NICE!

It is being shipped so I can only say I like the looks in the photos I have seen. It is going out to get tuned. It is my first gun with a Turnbull finish. Will not be a safe queen.

jmort, what all is getting done to it for "tuning?" Just curious..

I saw this one in the article in my latest edition of American Handgunner, it isn’t listed yet in Talo’s website.

Being only 500 made, and the first run of Turnbull frames, I'd be more inclined to keep this one unfired unturned, and send a different one to Turnbull for finishing! Value on this first Turnbull run will likely skyrocket.

^^^ Good Point
I am not a collector, but I do have a safe, and it may need a queen.

There was already a run of Turnbull 44 magnum Ruger revolvers. I looked at one in a gun store. It had a 7 1/2 inch barrel.

The finish was very nice. Had it been a 45 Colt with 5 1/2 in barrel I would have bought it. Let us know how yours shoots!

I bought that exact gun in January. Turnbull case hardening, 5.5" barrel, 45 Colt, special red Ruger box, & TBBxxxx serial number. Is this one something different and new?

Do not know. If your's has an unfluted cylinder and a finish from Turnbull and a Bisk
Bisley Grip, then it is probably the same. I just happened to run across one.
How do you like your's ?
Mine is being shipped

but I do have a safe, and it may need a queen.

Perfect reasoning.

I like it fine, but I've had some work done to it. The cylinder throats were undersized, so I sent it to Doug Guy for correction. Slipping plug gauges gently down the bore revealed a restriction about where the roll stamping began, so I fire lapped it. I still have trigger shims and a Power Custom cylinder stop to put in, so I haven't really tried it for accuracy yet. But it is a very nice gun-just needs some help if it is to shoot cast bullets to the maximum potential.

what are they asking for them. I love me some case hardening. Ive got 6 rugers that ive sent to turnbull. He does a great job at it. I haven't bought a new single action in years but would consider one of those. Id walk on my hands to the gunshop to buy one if theyd make it in 44mag and preferably with a 4 5/8s barrel but even that 5.5 inch 45 colt is calling me if its doesn't cost an arm and leg.

Most expensive Ruger single action I ever bought new. North of $800 with shipping. I have another stainless version, unfluted cylnder, Bisley grip, 4.62" barrel that cost much less. If the Turbull finish is $200 then I did just fine. Problem for me is I love the look of unfluted cylinders so finding a blued finsh .45 Colt Blackhawk like this may just be impossible, so it is a Unicorn in that case. And apparently the did a run in .44 Mag as noted above. Probably a Gun Broker option.

Makes sense. Will have it tuned and get Doug busy. I have enough guns in the queue to keep him busy for a while.

Very true as far as an unfluted unrollmarked blued Bisley. The beautiful CCH is just a bonus.

Davidsons has 29 in stock. Too rich for me.

The only thing stopping me is I have heard the throats need work. pay that much it should be right. I am also a way bigger fan of the 44 spl than the 45Colt. If that was in 44 spl it would end up in my safe and on my hip.. The two things that I never liked on the Rugers were that they were not color case frames... love that finish... and... no one piece grips. I also don't like the front sight but to be fair.. The Colt target guns with adjustable sights are the same.. I would want a more period patridge front sight on that gun...which also... works best for my eyes anyway. Still.. it is a very handsome gun.

Yes, I see that, $1,154.00 msrp
I did the Gun Genie
900 plus, plus shipping to local dealers
So I got a decent deal compared to Davidsons
