Sta-Warm lead Thermal Furnaces

I picked these two up today from a local estate sale.

Anyone have one? Or used them in the past?

They seem to hold quite a bit of lead.

Do they heat up? You plugged one in?

We had that style in the plant. They were an industrial pot for dip soldering or for pouring the lead seals on set adjustments. They would set on the line and as the parts went by a measured ladle of led was poured in the adjustment opening to seal it. We had them from 15 lbs to 60 lbs. They would sit for days with molten lead running, at shift change clean up ( normally 15-20 mins) they would be refilled with ingots and come up to temp during clean up for the next shift.

I've something similar. The thermostat is a HI/LOW switch on the power cord. Holds about 50 pounds. Used it quite a bit to mix alloy.
