does anyone make a milled hammer with wide spur, the one on my new 101 looks like hell and to thin to cock single action .

I have never seen an aftermarket hammer for the GP100 or SP101, I know there are a few different factory hammer styles so maybe you could adapt one to be more to your liking?
If you reduce the hammer spring weight and clean up the internals it might lower the effort required to cock in single action, at least worth the $10 spring kit to try.

Haven't handled a recent-manufacture SP101 lately but my 'old' (early 1990s) SP101 has a flat-sided hammer with deep checkering and the same profile as the Security-Six. Looking a Ruger parts breakdown for the SP101, I only see two hammers...the flat-side like mine and the 'dehorned' version for the DAO guns. With Hogue grips, no problem shooting SA and after a 'kitchen table' trigger job...spring kit and some careful polishing/shimming of the internals...DA is every bit as good as any S&W I've ever owned.

Mine had that 'thin' hammer and had no problem cocking for single action shots.
