Hi Bronte454, 45 ACP is the targeted chamber for this one, it follows the nose profile within 10% of all the RN copper ammo. This will be a good runner!

Hi Thraxx- you are right, it wouldnt be needed for ACP, but this might be useful on 45 LC and there are other cals that could use it.

Any chance the 6 cavity can be a bevel base?

Unfortunately not... The process of making a NLG out of a grooved cherry, means that Miha has to run a secondary tool into each cavity to remove the grooves from the bottom of the mold. That process also takes off the chamfer which is creating the bevel at the bottom. Sorry.... :(

Unfortunately not... The process of making a NLG out of a grooved cherry, means that Miha has to run a secondary tool into each cavity to remove the grooves from the bottom of the mold. That process also takes off the chamfer which is creating the bevel at the bottom. Sorry.... :(

I wouldn't suggest using this boolit for 44 mag. 44 bullets are .429 - .432. This is larger at .453 you would have to size do 10 tho, thats a lot.

Hi Mega,

When I talked to Miha last week he said the pins were ordered and he was getting back into the shop and starting to cut blocks. Europe has quite a long holiday period and he was telling me that the entire month of december, he wasnt able to machine, but that January was catch-up. I think we will start to see movement in the next few weeks.

Hi Ranger,

Unfortunately I dont have any update on this GB. I will ask Miha when I call him next week. There are several of these GB's that are growing old... All I can say is that the china virus is really affecting Europe still and last I talked to Miha, materials, and labor were in short supply.

My guess is that he is shipping on:
1) molds he already has the cherry for and doesnt need to wait for his supplier to make and
2) non-HP molds, this darn pin issue, his supplier for pins has some other high-paying govt work and he is being continually delayed by this.

I'll post when I know more.

Hi Armorguy,

I've put you in but there is one issue with your request: If you want the GC, you can't have it smooth side. When Miha machines these, he has to do the smooth side as a secondary operation, so he goes in and bores out the grooves which also wipes out the GC. Let me know if the GC or the grooveless is more important to you.

Hi everyone,

I talked with Miha yesterday, he is very sorry for all the delay in mold production. There are 2 issues he is dealing with, his supplier of the HP pins and a general shortage (and high cost) of raw materials. It's no different in the USA, if you have tried to buy any steel lately, you are in for a real shock... 2-3 times the cost from "pre-covid" pricing.

The GOOD news is, he has a new lathe coming, is supposed to start it's voyage by sea on the 28th and once it arrives and gets setup, Miha will start making his own pins!! Soon this pin-issue will be behind us. Stay patient and keep posted.

Update for everyone from Miha:

The CNC lathe to make all the pins is now on the ocean, expecting arrival at his shop of 28JAN22. This means that sometime in Feb he'll begin making all the pins. So stay tuned HP molds will start flowing again!
