Class act...

I did not agree with many of her husband's decisions as President, but they were respectable folks.

I fear her husband may not be far behind...

Classy lady. They were married 73 years, they don't make folks like that anymore.

She'll be interred here at the Bush Library. We always expected 41 to pass first. He's been in declining health. She will be missed.

I don't expect him to make it for long, being married to someone for 73 years and being as close as they were.

The Bushes are classy people and I know a lot of people didn't think him a good president, but he was the commander in chief my first time going into harm's way in Desert Shield/Desert Storm. We'd sit around waiting for all the powers that be while they saber rattled leading up to the fight, but I knew of his combat service in WWII and as a young kid then, there was no doubt in my mind that had Bush been of an age and position to do so, he'd have been in the lead vehicle going across that berm. Haven't had a president since that I think would have.

When you retire from the Army, you get a congrats letter from the president (very generic, computer image signature, but whatever). I found out you could ask for it from any living president, so I got in touch with Mr. Bush's office and asked and they sent me one. I declined to get one from Obama.

Say what you will about him, I think he's a good man and I think he was a good president. Nobody will ever be a perfect choice, and he had a very tough act to follow, but I'd take a guy like that again in a heart beat.
