My boss has an Encore set up for black powder and CF rifle. He needs to scope the CF rifle (.270). Anybody already done this and have any suggestions - mount and rings. He's looking at K4 and K6 scopes and the Simmons Whitetail classic, all on sale at Midway. Max range for deer hunting might be out to 200. Might take a coyote or two also. Mount and rings is really what we need a suggestion on.

I have the steel base made by T/C with Warne rings on mine.

My son has the 1 piece T/C setup on his 300 Win Mag. It is stout, and a good finish match. I think it is called the Duo Ring mount.

I have three frames and half a dozen barrels. All barrels are scoped with Redfield style base and Burris Signature rings which have the aligning inserts in them.

I prefer the Warne base. The base is solid steel, reasonably priced, and longer than most other bases. Tom.

The Whitetail classic scope works great and is a fantastic value. I initially bought one and now have three of them :)

I have the Talley one piece base and rings on my 25-06 Encore barrel. Built like a tank. You can get them for whatever height you need. They were about $45 at my local gunshop. Will do it again on my next barrel.
