Today I got to cast my first boolits from my RCBS 45-230-CM mold. Using these boolits in my Kimber 1911. 230 grains and a big meplat, and my Kimber feeds them perfectly and it is accurate.
The boolits fell from the mold as soon as it was opened, and continued to do so during the casting session. Open the mold, out came the boolits, no rapping or tapping. Excellent.
Using COWW/PB 50/50 with some tin, the bollits weighed 231 grains, and miked @ .454".
RCBS makes wonderful molds. This my 4th RCBS mold and all have been pure pleasure to cast boolits with.
One thing, this 45-230-CM mold is hard to find. I searched on the internet for some time until I found one.
