That's great! Gonna steal it and use it in class. Just this weekend had a gent,one of "those guys" who just would not take instructions, he knew it all, had a very nice pistol, and consistently shot patterns not groups one to two foot low and left. And would not change a thing nor listen about his cross eye dominance, he was surprised that I would not certify him for a MI CPL, told him to come back ,twice if need be at no charge to get on target. Don't think he will take me up on two free private lessons. Some folks just know it all already.

I find women to be in this category. They usually listen and ask endless questions but come range time they do very well.

An aside: was teaching my wife to shoot pistols (I got lucky and didn't die from her hand). Several sessions later transitioned to 38 sp wimp loads; later still mid-power 38 Sp loads

Finally we were at the range each shooting, looked over, she was rummaging around in the ammo bag. Said something to the effect, "I shot up all my loads, what else you got?"

all we had was .357 loads--explained they were hotter--she shot all of them and was still looking for more

For us older guys with receding shoulder strength, I find just waving the semi across the target and pulling the trigger when appropriate works best.
