has anyone ever gotten different size stems from lyman. i tried 2 different operators at lyman and neither can come up with different size stems other than what comes with the M die. yet. there is a listing for sizes .265, .283,.285, .310, .311, and .313. (these are what i want) but, the listing is not on they're website

Here is their Email (Lyman's) answer!

The 30 Long M die comes with a 30R plug which is already .307/.311. We do not make a plug that is .306/.310. The next size larger that we make is .310/.314. Oversize/custom plugs are not available at this time.

I just ordered the 303British Mandrel inserts for the Lee Collet Die. They are .3085, so should allow a long seated bullet to move back as I chamber it and stay tight to the throat.

I ordered a 31R plug from Lyman on the phone about a year ago to size bullets for use in 7.62 54r. I suspect that is the designation for the .310-.314. Gent I talked to on the phone knew exactly what I wanted. I ordered with a CC and received it in about 3 days. It works. No problem loading .313 sized lead bullets with it.

Lyman stepped expanders work GREAT as long as you NEVER measure brass eccentricity before and after you use them.

For reloading the 30's I have every Redding neck size bushing from 0.327 to 0.339 and Lyman thinks I should be happy with two different expander diameters. They're stuck in the 1930's. I went Lee/NOE and never looked back.
