Just this morning I see at www.gibrass.com that Jeff has WC844 for $99 for
eight pounds. Great for 5.56mm....get it while you can.

That is a great HEADS UP...I don't need any, but I will bet dollars to donuts it won't last long.
The last time Jeff had something desirable and something I wanted/needed, I hesitated a day...and then when I tried to order, I was told "it's gone".

I did not spot this thread until I went looking for it.

I shoot a lot more handgun ammo than rifle ammo, but have slowly just about depleted my ancient stock of rifle powder.

Was thinking of a ball powder in the H322 to H335 burn rate range to use for 30 Herrett, 30-30, 30-06 etc.

Then my son brings home an AR in 5.56.

I was looking to make an order of H322, but I also went out and was pricing bulk 22 Jwords. I went to www.gibrass.com to look at the Jwords, and there was the WC844.

I ordered two 8 lb jugs for just a little more than than I would have payed for one jug of the new stuff.

Got my 6 jugs 5 days ago. Already gone through a pound and a half.

Anyone have experience on pushing a plain base 55 gr (or similar) using WC844 (or similar) with PC and getting the action to cycle without having the accuracy get bad?

The gun in question is a Ruger with a 18" barrel,

I am hoping for this outcome given that I have 16 lbs in transit. If not, I will probably end up with bulk buys on them darned Jwords.

Wonder how it would do in the S&W .500 Magnum with cast.

I have went through a older jug I have had for years , as son and son in law seem to like to shoot up my ammo , so I went to gibrass and saw this in stock , heck $99 a 8lb jug is pretty good price , I ordered some as I was on last pound and had just processed a bunch of brass , now if wolf primers were still cheap and available.
