I was at a show this week end with Pauline and she told me a case of powder ships free east of the Mississippi river. Nice folks!

Yes. They get a big sum of my money on a regular basis. I've always found them to have great service - except I can't get Swiss Null-B from them.

We will likely be moving to Maine as soon as we can find a house to buy. Looking at the SE area.

Hanshi,

Just a comment, but the further south in Maine you go the more liberal. Many of us call Southern Maine as "Northern Massachusetts". There are a great deal of initiatives that originate in the south of Maine that effect the whole state or specifically the north (i.e the bear referendum, and the gun transfer initiative)...although going further north will not fix all those issues, you may be happier. I would look just north of Augusta...just saying.

He’s right,i live in Cumberland county which is in southern Maine. I like to tell people that Massachusettes is getting Maine back one house lot at a time. It is very liberal in this part of the state,it’s reflected in a big way by the amount of posted land you see. I love living here but unless you’re north of Augusta you will be out voted on most things.

Smorin,

I grew up in Brunswick and my Dad had a tractor dealership in Topsham. I now live in Gardiner...we should shoot sometime at my range (West Gardiner Rod and Gun Club).

I haven't been there on a Saturday yet. Hopefully now that the weather is getting better I'll head my way down there more often.

I know I'll be looking for a place to shoot and maybe even a place to hunt. Don't know exactly where we'll be but will be looking (and voting).

WOW guys, Maine sounds a lot like Oregon is now! In the forty years I have been here the population has doubled with the majority of it coming from California. The entire state is run by the vote on the West side of it.The East side may as well vote on nothing cause the West side will win what they want.Maybe 15 years ago the California migration started and has never ended. They all wanted to get away from the garbage down there and guess what, they brought it with them! The ridiculous traffic at all times, the rude inconsiderate people and the Liberal politics mostly. So I feel for you guys in Maine, and soon as I retire my butt is out of here for a better place to live.

most importantly, the maine gun laws are still constitutionally reasonable ... at least for now.

Fortunately our gun laws are not restrictive yet but if the “migration” of out of staters stays steady and with alot of our young folk not being interested in the shooting sports i see changes in our lifestyle/hobby.
