I just acquired a single cavity mould from a member here and cast some boolits with it today.
I don't normally weigh boolits, but, I weighed about 30 of them and discovered that they varied only 0.3 of a grain.

This got me thinking about the weigh variance of two or four cavity mould as a whole when casting.
Is there or should I say would there be a greater variance with multiple cavities {each cavity cut with a different cherry} as opposed to a single cavity mould?

There might be do to slight differences in depth and other dimensions. Every cutter cuts slightly different and chip loads can vary also. It used to be that it was recommended for the most consistant bullets to use a single cavity mould, or to nose mark the cavities and shoot them as groups.
