Does anybody have any experience firing PC boolits in a polygon rifle barrel. Just thinking that a polygon rifling will work better that cut rifling or even 5R rifling. Any ideas or results?

I shot coated bullets in my 300 bo rem 700 5r. It shot wonderful. 120 yards 5 shots subsonic 1 1/4 inch using a noe 311-198 sp

Thanks OD I lived there in Mosby's woods once. I found a public reference which reports that PC should work better in polygons barrels. Gary Schneider, barrels fit this and Tubbs is a known user of them.

“That also somewhat would explain the experience of polygon taking less propellant, and points out a possibility that polygonal rifling might work that much better with a moly coated bullet. All TUBB 2000s have polygonal rifling and we have been setting records with them” DAVID TUBB — the RIFLE SHOOTER

So all I have to do is find the $350 for the blank from Schneider and the $200 to get the chamber and profile cut, ouch.

I shoot both sonic and subsonic 300 Blackout in a Noveski polygon bore. Extremely accurate
And yes i use Less powder per load to get the same speed as other blackout shooters
Did the same in a HK pistol

Thanks smokes. Bacon Grease is good stuff. Less powder equal velocity, how about same powder greater velocity. For long range high speed apps that should work even better. Just have to find better source for affordable polygon rifle barrels Odin Works but $450
