It's been mentioned before about using magnum primers to light off WC820. I've been using Winchester WLP for all of my large pistol primer needs, from Red Dot and Bullseye in .45ACP to heavy H-110 charges in a .44mag.

Will WLP work OK for WC820? I can't imagine it wouldn't, but. . .

If it says "for standard or magnum pistol loads", you're good to go. This is the same primer they use in Winchester factory loads.

I used the standard or mag. primers for my 45Acp 230 grain lead bullet loads at one time. Useing 5.5 grains of unique it produced apx. 50 fps faster load than my cci primers so be careful useing them with fast burning powders.

Sven,
I've been playing with WC820 for awhile. Yes, a standard primer will light it off, but sometimes leaves unburned powder in the gun. I found better results w/ mag. primers.

they work but fed mags work a touch better and cci 350s work the best with it.
