Hello all this is my first post, I'm wanting to make a replica of a M1A/M14 magazine, but am over thinking it, anyone make their own magazines that could offer some advice?
I'm also looking to make or buy some followers that have a long fin to restrict the magazine to 5 rounds, seeing I'm in Canada lol

Welcome to the forum!
Obviously someone makes them, so they can be made, but far easier to just buy one (or more) and presently they're very available and most are of good quality. To do it yourself you'd need a sheet metal press and a tig welder.
I'm guessing that you want a full sized one for appearance, but are limited to 5 rounds for hunting? Anyway, that's the way it is in many places here.
You can accomplish the same thing with an appropriately shaped piece of wood inside the magazine and a shortened spring. Also, 5 rounders are commercially available.

Thanks all, and yah buying would be easier, but I have a tinkering itch, I asked my doctor and he still couldn't find anything but he prescribed the cream lol
