So I made it to the closest reloading shop and got some lead for the 44-40 I’ve been trying to get lined out and I picked up some lead to use in my 45-70. I ended up buying .4515 dia 300gr jacketed spfn and some 225gr and 240gr jsphp / jspfn respectively and there both .429 dia

After sitting down at the bench I realized I had purchased the wrong lead for either application only 2 bibles I have are the Hornady from probably 7 years ago and the Lyman 49th. Neither of which have anything with the 300gr 45 in 45colt or 45ACP does anyone have load data for a boolits that big for either cartridge?

As for the 44-40 I gauged the bore of my rifle and came up between .426 and .430. While I think I’d be ok with that even though the Bible’s data says .427 dia, all of the data in both books only takes me to 205gr boolits so does anyone have data for that cartridge with the heavier lead?

Should I just make another trip back there and find the right stuff?

Your the man I thought I found a thread with free load data links but that’s the ticket!!!

Only question left is will I be alright with the .429 boolits?

Practically all current 44-40's are made with .429" barrels.
