To some this may remind them of a whale, perhaps a narwhal with a bent spike.
These came to me as a set of 4. At one time they had felt on the bottom.
I was told they were used for holding down blue prints or maps.
3-1/2 pounds about 6-1/2" long.

Pretty cool looking. Defiantly has a special purpose.

They were used for holding flexible battens when drawing large curves.
Popular with boat builders when lofting.

I haven't seen any of those in years. I am a draftsman by trade and have used those once or twice many years ago.
We used them for drawing camber in bridge girders or trusses. That was nearly 40 years ago, now most everything is computer generated.
