Lyman lube sizer

I recently acquired a Lyman lube sizer. No manual. Just the unit. How can I tell which model it is. There is no identification info on the unit itself with the exception of "Lyman" molded into the frame.

If you post a photo of it , I would bet money if I can't ID it someone on this site can.
We've seen a lube sizer or two !

The first one is a 45. The second and third are 450's. The fourth is a 4500. The 4500 looks a lot like the 450's, but it will have a hole for the heater, if I remember correctly. It's exactly like the last (bottom) picture that you posted, jimkim. Is that the 4500? Mine has no numbers cast into it that I could find except "Lyman". I'll try to post a photo but I've never done that before. May take me a while.

Lyman still has replacement parts and upgrade parts for the 450 , last year I ordered every part I could for my grey bodied/red handled 450 when I realized I had never replaced one part on it and I wanted to be able to fix it should the need arise....my luck dictates that a part be discontinued just when I need it.

Well, I tried to upload pics but each time I got "upload of file failed". Guess I'll have to get some more help to get this done.

get the little Lyman parts/instruction book for $1.75......incidentally,the O ring piston is alleged to be an improvement,but the old split brass ring is much better.

One thing....back off the lube screw about two full turns after using,otherwise lube will extrude out of the sizing die all over the place.Its also been claimed the casting can be cracked by pressure buildup from expansion of the lube.

PS let long bullets cure for two weeks before sizing unless you want bananas.

As far as posting pictures - I know there is a size limit on the site, I think 1mb?. My camera takes much bugger pictures - I put the picture in Paint and downsize it and then post.
