Leatherwood makes a scope for the Sharps. No holds barred opinions would be OK.

Duke, buy the scope made by MVA 23" length with the mil dot reticle, cry once and you will never be sorry. The full length scopes will not let you go much past 6-700yds, also you will have to raise your eye up so high to see through the scope that you will have to rest your chin on the stock. There is a lot of info on this scope on the Shiloh Rifle Forum. The MVA scope is also of better quality then the Malcolm scope especially in the adjustments. Look for posts under Kenny Wasserburger.

Ditto what Doc said. The mounts on the Leatherwood are robust to say the least actually clunky looking. My shooting buddy bought an old brass scope and got the mounts from Leatherwood and spent a lot of time trying to get it set up, but he has a machine shop in his basement. The only bad thing I have to say about the MVA is that there is a fair amount of backlash in the elevation screw and it takes a little getting used to. One reason I went with MVA is they have windage adjustment on the back mount. The mil dots while not being period correct sure make small hold offs very easy instead of making scope adjustments.
