Missouri Bullet 475 Thumper 340gr RNFP and H110

Man I'm having no luck finding any loads for this round. I emailed Hodgdon, waiting for their reply, but anyone here load this round for 480 Ruger? I know H110 likes full charges but closest I could find is 355gr on Hodgdon's website.

Post the bullet weight (actual), diameter and length as well as the cartridge over all length you plan to use and I will run it thru Quickload. I will need to know the barrel length as well. QL will get you in the ballpark for starting loads.

When I seen the thread "Missouri Bullet 475 Thumper" it got me excited since I cast for my 475 Linebaugh. Have you checked any of the Lyman cast bullet load data to see if they have something listed for your 480?

I recently made some loads for my 480 using W296. I have an NEI mold which throws two different boolets. The light one comes out at 363 gr with gas check and lube. The heavy 433gr lubed. I size to .478". Generally, I get no leading. Can't remember off the top of my head how many grains of powder I settled on with the lighter, but I did go with 20.0 for the heavies. In my experience, one can safely use data for heavier bullets. It just yields more velocity with the lighter ones.

Just a follow up with my findings

A gent from a FB group advised he tried the same bullet with 25-27.5gr 296.
He felt 27.5 was too hot and kept 27.2gr as his max

I ran a few rounds loaded with 296 with 25, 25.5, 26gr and had no issues. No cratering on the primers.. just a healthy dose of recoil
