Soft lead in 45 colt with Trail Boss

Has any one here tried pure lead in the 45 colt with Trail Boss? I have quit a bit of soft lead on hand and a limited supply of WW's. Soft lead where i live is relatively easy to get. I would like to make use of it.

Yes I have. I think all .45 colts started out shooting pure lead in them. I would guess that if you held it to cowboy load data, you could use any powder, but I have used Trail Boss, Unique and RedDot and didn't have any trouble with any of them. Make sure it fits the gun and that you got some lube on it and have fun!

Be sure to use a soft lube.

Now would also be the time to try coated bullets. That would be perfect for you and those cowboy colt loads.
