I ordered a Mernickle "Concealed Carry" holster for my 3" Ruger GP100 in .44 spec. and am well pleased.

Let's face it: the GP100 is not petite & CCW may be a stretch. However: inside the Mernickle it feels very light on the hip & tucks in just fine.

I like traditional leather.

A few photos to prove my point.

That looks nice. I have been tempted to try and carry my GP100 44 spl. They are such a well balanced gun. I honestly thought it would be a fools errand though. Your pics make me think it might be possible now.

I have carried my BH 4 5/8 barrel 41 magnum in a holster like that under a light jacket / sweatshirt not as easy as a 1911
but you can do it

Ed,
The grips on my GP are Ruger items. They're standard on the Talo 1763 & the 1774. They're smaller & more compact than the Hogue item that came with the gun. Mine are a gift from Ruger CS as an apology for a boo boo on my Lipsey 5" GP. They make a huge difference in the CCW role & do not take away from the shootability.

Nice set up! I wonder, has anybody tried this design with a Smith Mdl 69 with 4-1/4" bbl?

Shuz,
Check out Mernickle's web site www.mernickleholsters.com : they lean heavily toward the CAS shooter, but have a CCW section for SA & DA revolvers. Their site is the most complete of any that I've seen. You can order by brand, model, cal.& bbl. length. In other words, the holster will be custom made for your exact revolver.

Mernickle holsters are great! Just got one for my Bearcat, great fit and finish and quick service. When you see handle and use a Mernickle you find out just how a great holster should be! Tim
