I think I figured out my ejector problem with this gun. Got too much slop in the bolt groove & extractor just slips off cartridge rim. Now, I want to buy & fit a new extractor. Anyone know a site with instructions for doing one of these? I wished Junior had done one on this like he did on the straight up older '94! Great job, by the way Junior.

I ain't 100% positive, but I think my take-down method works on all Model 94s. Only difference is a screw holding in the lever pin on some models, I think

Thanks Jr.
Looks like I am going to have some spare time on my hands as I am off work for a month or so. Had a heart attack last week. They put in two stents in the coronary artery. I was lucky, my GF drove me there because of shoulder pain that turned out to be the heart. So, another guy fixing up rifles after a heart attack! I'll give the teardown a try. Can't hurt anything.

Damn, Newtire. I hope you come out of this ok. My first heart attack was at age 39. The stint they installed in 2003 did wonders. My heart is better than in 20 years.

There were a couple of differences between my 1950 '94 and my '04 '94AE. The biggest was the cartrige lifter piviot, and the hammer assembly. The AE was MUCH easier. Thanks again Junior for putting the dissassembly instructions on your site.

Hope you are back up in the fray soon Newtire!

Good site Junior, I had it bookmarked but haven't been there for awhile. I'll have to study up on the 30/30 stuff. I've got a Win 94 being sorely neglected.

Newtire, bestwishes for a speedy recovery. At least you'll have something to keep you occupied during recovery. Frank

Numrich likely has a new extractor, they do have them for '92s.
On my 1900 , 1894 and 1910, 1892, the pin that retains the extractor is accessable just by opening the action all the way.
Numich has downloadable blown up drawings for most guns, including '92 and '94s, I believe it was $3-4.

Thanks You Guys,
Sounds like I will be able to figure it out from here then. Was just wondering if there was anything that was going to give me lots of trouble. Sounds pretty straight up. Thanks for the tips! I'll go get me a few free "Maps" for reassembly. (Not that I ever get lost..nosirree!)
Great to hear you're doing so good with the stent Jr. I feel real real good actually myself. Climbing the steps to my house was getting to be a real chore. Things were kinda sneaking up on me without my realizing it I guess. Only thing giving me any grief is breaking my cigarette habit. Done it before though and not too bad really.
Lucky I chose the right insurance plan at work. Have some sick time on the books too. Just things seem to have gone my way and I feel lucky lucky....Glad to have luxury of playing with rifles.

Take a look @ this site: http://www.time-slice.com/mohave.gambler/favorites/LeverGuns/Winchester94.htm
I ain't read completely through it, but it should at least give you a starting point.

One thing to look at is too long a brass for the chamber length, that will make the extractor slip over the rim like you're experiencing. I had a '92 in 45 Colt that was driving me nuts and found that was the problem.
