I would wait and see if that lightweight titanium firing pin causes mis fires with light primer hits. Springfield Armory put a titanium firing pin in their compact 1911 that was for the CA. market in order to pass the drop safety test. It passed the drop test but they had complaints of misfires on some factory ammo. They fixed the problem under warranty by replacing the titanium with a heavier steel firing pin that they used in guns not sold in CA.

Yes I remember when Springfield 1st came out with their XDS and had the big Recall on them I did not get the same pistol back is 1I sent it to them good trigger was absolutely a horrible

Yes they sell like hot cakes. Davidson's Gallery of guns can not keep them in stock for any length of time. It took me 6 months of hard searching to find the Springfield Armory 1911 9mm here in CA. The majority are being bought by persons that will be using them for concealed carry. Small lightweight for all day carry and more power then a compact 380.

Awesome! I love the Officer size 1911s, but want a 3.5" barrel for a more balanced look. Up til now, RIA Compacts were the only game in town at my price range. But I'm wanting an American made 1911!

I'm just the opposite. I want the barrel bushing on my 1911's. If there isn't one it's not going to stay around long at my house.

I like the 1911 design but would prefer it to have some upgrades from the past 100+ years. I just think how weird it would be if my Kimber Micro had a barrel bushing and an external thumb safety plunger tube. I certainly would not have bought it if it did not have a passive firing pin block. The Micro isn't a 1911 but clearly a descendant, just like the new Ruger is.

My wish, they'd make the compact model chambered in 38 Super. My guess they will eventually as a distributor exclusive at an inflated price.

Not a huge 1911 fan, they are too big for me to manipulate all the controls with a single hand. Some of them I can not even properly reach the trigger. BUT, they are making it in a series 70 design! To me, that is cool.

I’ve been shooting one for a while. I bought it to replace my old cc gun because it was becoming difficult for me to pull the slide on the old one. Old age will do that to you.

As you might expect it was a bit stiff initially, but after 150 rounds or so it loosened up and has been 100% reliable. In the hand it feels very good, just like a full sized 1911 but smaller and lighter. The slide pulls easily and it has the usual good 1911 trigger.

I would recommend one to anyone looking for an easily carried 1911 type for cc.

I do prefer concealed carry weapons that begin with the number 4 but I'd never felt unarmed with a 9
