Attention: Black Powder Target Rifle Shooters
The long range shooting season at Rattlesnake is starting soon. See the" March flyer is below. Please help spread the word.
There will be five Rattlesnake (near Richland WA) Mid-Range & Long Range Matches in 2018; in March, April, July, August, and September. In addition, three NRA-approved Long Range championship matches are scheduled;
- Washington State Creedmoor Championship, May 18-20
- Washington State Long Range Championship, June 23-24
- Regional Long Range Championship, October 13-14
Match Programs and the complete 2018 High Power Calendar are posted on the Tri-cities Shooting Association website at http://www.tcsa.info/disciplines/highpower.
For anyone new to Rattlesnake, here are a few notes specific to Black Powder shooters.
- Equipment standards are listed in current NRA Black Powder Target Rifle Rules.
- No smokeless powder or duplex loads. No jacketed or gas check bullets.
- Any period metallic or telescopic sights may be used. Shooters using telescopic sights compete in a separate category.
- Firing will be from the prone position with crossed sticks (Rule 5.5.1) -- or sitting with crossed sticks (Rule 5.7) if the shooter prefers. Crossed Sticks must comply with Rule 3.13(a). However, to prevent erosion of the graveled firing platform, crossed sticks may NOT be inserted into the ground. Instead, crossed sticks may be mounted on a base that provides equivalent support.

Friday AM: 300/600-yd Mid-Range Match (10 or 20 shots at each range + sighters)
Friday PM: Long Range Practice 800/900/1000 yds
Saturday: 800/900/1000-yd Creedmoor / Palma Match (10 or 15 shots at each range + sighters)
Sunday: 1000/1000-yd Long Range Match (10 or 20 shots at each range + sighters)
Open Matches - membership not required. New contestants welcome. All categories: BPTR, Palma, Match, Service, F-class, even “Tactical” rifles. Any safe high power rifle up to .35 caliber. No BPTR caliber restriction. Results and awards by category. Plaques to match winners. No advance registration needed. Shoot one, two, or all three days. Entry Fees: $20 One Day $25 Two Days $30 Three Days ($10 Friday LR Practice Only -- free for Match Participants)
