I'd like to try some of what you use in your 8x57 so I can decide on a mould. The Lee would suit fine but any other will be fine.
Thanks
Thomas

I have 4 -8mm molds and plenty cast up. I have 3 NOE's, and and Accurate from Tom, in addition to the Lee 175. I will be back home tonight and can look up the numbers tomorrow. I have a pb design the makes a good plinker too. hc18flyer

Any of you 8mm guys ever try an Ideal mold 321 297? On a chart I found it said it was a .323 diameter but it didn't say what the weight was.I have a new one but don't have a sizer to try it. Also looking for 100 bullets for plinking at a max of 100 yards. Anyone have any for sale? Thanks

For what it's worth, I've found that the Yugo 24/47 Mausers take a small diameter boolet that say a VZ 24 Mauser.
So, check your bore diameters first. Just a suggestion.

From the castpics.net (bookmark that) reference the 321297 is a 181gr GC, if you're not using original Lyman #2 alloy, it'll probably come out heavier.

It was made for older .321" American bores like the Winchester 32 Special and 32 Remington Rimless. Older molds may well pressure cast with high tin alloys to .323", if only just that.

321297, had one , as stated was designed for the 32Wn Spec and the 32Auto, could never get it big enough for my use, 0.321" was about it, and beagling didnt do much, sold it and found the RanchDog 323-170 performed well enough to plink with.

Thanks HangFireW8 and phaessler for the information on the Ideal mold 321 297.The chart I saw said it was a .323 diameter but when you look at the number of the mold I should of realized it was a .321 diameter.I thought I got lucky and had a good old iron 8mm mold.

SAECO 081 Mold will cast a .323/.324 bullet. It shoots well in all my 88/98 GEW's start with 22. Grains IMR 4198 and work up until you hit the sweet spot. I am casting this weekend. Reply with address and I will send you some.

Thanks to hc18flyer, I have a good years worth of samples to try! So generous. I scored a set of CH dies, too. I'm a kid at Christmas.
