i have used 200gr swc up to 280gr wfn gc in my 444(tc encore/24" barrel). i have gone full bore velocity (which i can no longer do) to powder puff loads. my load today is a 280gr wfn gc with 25.5gr of 2400 and a tuft of dacron(1700+/-fps). but i want more boolit weight with less velocity. i'm planning on using a 310gr lee fn and 2400 and i'll start with a 20gr load. why 2400? because i have like 12lbs of it.:bigsmyl2: a tuft of dacron will possibly be used. why dacron? because i have 5 yards of it.:bigsmyl2: i'm planning on using a coww with a smidge of tin. its velocity should be in 1400-1600fps range. i will be using it for deer and the range will be 150 yards at most. 50 yards and less will be most likely. i have to buy the mould, but what do you guys/girls think?

Good plan; that is a nice looking boolit, very similar to my LBT boolit I've used for years in 44 mag. Get the 6-cavity while you're at it (just 'cause you can).

I made this simple reamer and reamed the Lee mold gas check shank out to .432. I size them .432 and load them over 18 grains of 2400, or 58 grains of Goex Cartridge for my .41 Swiss Vetterli.

I size and lube them and then swage the bases flat. The lube preserves the lube groove during swaging. Then I put a cannelure on the finished bullets (the Lee crimp groove is so shallow anyway).
