I have been at "war" with my Ruger 454. I am pretty sure I have the varmint rifle mentality about this revolver, all the bullet touching all the time, I havent found that load yet with my 454. I havent found a load accurate enough to call it a 454, instead of a 45LC.
Today I loaded some 300gr Lee bullets in Starline cases and 25gr of 2400 powder. Accuracy test was very informal being off hand at 35 yards, but I shot 24 rounds into our shooting car. It seems to be accurate at that range and it defiantly has more than enough power, punching that water dropped WW bullet completely through both front doors. Im not sure what the FPS is but it shouldnt have a problem knockin a deer over.

Thats the neighbors car, he came over and asked if we wanted to drag it out back and shoot it some, he was taking it the scrape yard anyways. My 500 S&W didnt even dimple the back side door, 357 did a number on the windows, and the M1 garand really screwed up the engine compartment.
