I have a 1992 West German 220 Sig. It is in 98 to 99 % condition. I need a back woods and fishing load for it. I have a new Wolf 22 Lb recoil spring to use with heavier loads. I will not use these loads after after I develope one, just when I carry in the back woods. This will be in Colorado and central Wyoming. I could run into animals such as black bear, lion and wolf (in Wyoming) . Brown bear in Wyoming would have to be delt with bear spray. So I have been thinking of 230 Gr. Nosler Sporting bullets. I would think a velocity of 900 to 1,000 FPS would be good. I have at least six or seven of the common pistols powders.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks-Art

You're gonna be limited to 45acp+ data. I'd use a WFN cast or a bullet of better construction than the Nosler Sporting such as the XTP.
