There are no Lyman Plains Rifles - 50cal - DST - patchbox on the Internet for sale.
What would be the market value of the Plains Rifle (not the Great Plains) in 98% condition never fired.
Only info on it is in the Lyman Muzzle Loader Vol 1 with a new retail price of $225
Thanks Kindly

the dgw is pretty close to what you have, and is made by investarms, which also makes the lyman.

.

AFAIK, the only Lyman Plains frontstuffer is a pistol, not a rifle.

https://www.lymanproducts.com/brands/lyman/muzzle-loaders.html

The Lyman rifles are:

The Lyman Mustang (break-open)
The Lyman Deerstalker (1:48" twist)
The Lyman Trade Rifle (1:48" twist)
The Lyman Great Plains Rifle (1:60" twist)
The Lyman Great Plains Hunter (1:28" twist)

IIRC it is a model that was discontinued by Lyman.

Charlie, this is correct. It was listed in the Lyman Muzzle Loader Vol 1, vintage 1976 for $225 retail

rfd - thanks for the Dixie look alike of the Lyman Plains rifle. A friend has the Lyman Plains Rifle - 100% without the box and wants to sell it. The 36 & 38 Editions of the Blue Book of Gun Values has no Lyman muzzleloaders listed except in the 38th for their new venture into the Sharps

if it's pristine brandy new, and has been well cared for over the decades, it should fetch over $300, maybe close to $400.
