View Full Version : A dose of humility

I've been reading John again and there's always something that strikes me no matter how many times I read. John 7: 53 says "and everyone went to his own house." (after a long day I guess). 8:1 says "Jesus went to the Mt. of Olives." As Luke relates Jesus' own words (9:58) the Son of Man didn't even have a place to lay his head. So I'm thinking, The King of Creation, Son of God was born on the floor of an animal stall, for 3 years slept on the ground, rejected by most of His own blood kin, hated by His church, and died naked in pain in front of His Momma to save us from ourselves. I can scarcely lift my eyes to heaven as I ponder this. My own "righteousness" is truly a filthy rag. Create a clean heart in me O Lord, and renew a steadfast spirit within me today.

Thank you for the verse and comment . When you think of Christ's time with us it is overwhelming . In those three years history was changed , the world was changed, a new covenant , teaching , healing . He gave us all we need to spend eternity with him through faith .

Amen and AMEN!

He does not need or want us proud and strong.

Weak and humble serves him much better.
