What single shot action designs/plans can be built from mostly hand tools?

The rifle would be for .357 mag and .38 Sp. using this barrel. https://www.gunpartscorp.com/products/1199550

I've done machine work a couple life times ago and in the last few years made my own rifle sights as well as cut and crowned a few barrels that are pretty accurate. This was with all hand tools.
My tools are all hand tools except for drill press. I do know a retired gunsmith that has done some machining for me at minimal expense.

About the only single shot actions I am aware of that can be built with minimal tools are the de Haas models. There is a book with plans in it called "Mr. Single Shot's Book Of Rifle Plans".

You might be able to adapt the rifle called a 'Chicopee' to work with that barrel. And you might be better off finding someone who can do the threading and chambering for you so you aren't stuck trying to build an action around a barrel. The project really should be worked the other way around. Not that it wouldn't be possible, but either way a bit of lathe time is going to be required.

Hope this helps. Good luck.

homegunsmithfroum.com has a ton of plans and folks over there that have built single shot guns with nothing more than benchtop tools.
