Lost Another Family Member. That Makes 5 In The Last Year Or So

My last sister passed away leaving me as the last man standing in my family. In the last, what, 1 1/2yrs? I've lost both of my sisters, mother, nephew and daughter in law. Father drowned a number of years ago but seems like yesterday. No kids so the 200+yr lineage of at least one of every generation of my family fighting for this country from The Battle of Bennington forward are done. My step daughter is still in uniform so I guess the lineage passes to her?

My faith is wavering but still there. Oy......Prayers not for me but for my departed if you have the time.

The recent events have brought this to mind. I have had the extreme privilege of serving on several of these and witnessing a number more of the only salute that will not be returned.
